SFDF celebrates member success at industry awards
The Scottish Food and Drink Federation (SFDF), the voice of food and drink manufacturing in Scotland, congratulates three of its member companies, Dean's of Huntly, Rannoch Smokery and Taste of Arran, for scooping prizes at last night's Scotland Food and Drink Excellence Awards.
The awards, which took place at the Assembly Rooms in Edinburgh, celebrate excellence in Scottish food and drink products across the entire food chain. SFDF member wins included Dean's of Huntly's success in the Bakery and Cereal Based Product category with its Mary Steele Speciality Biscuits; Rannoch Smokery's win in the Meat - Red, White and Game category for its Dry-cured Smoked Wild Scottish Venison; and Taste of Arran's success in the Dairy category for its Cheese Shop Mustard Cheddar, where its Arran Dairies Rich Dark Chocolate Ice Cream was also nominated.
Other SFDF members nominated for the awards include Borders Biscuits, Nairn's Oatcakes Ltd, and Agrico UK Ltd.
Dr Colette Backwell, Director at SFDF, said:
“The range of products which make up the nominees and eventual winners of this year's Scotland Food and Drink Awards highlights the diversity, quality and innovation which underpin food and drink manufacturing in Scotland. Our sector's reputation for quality, both at home and abroad, is one of the key drivers of our continued success. I was pleased to see so many SFDF members nominated for this year's awards and congratulate Dean's of Huntly, Rannoch Smokery and Taste of Arran for winning in their categories.”
