Lanigan, Saskatchewan – Potash Corporation of Saskatchewan Inc. (PotashCorp) yesterday announced a $100,000 matching gift contribution to the Humboldt District Hospital Foundation and its “Equip to Care” campaign radiothon. The results of PotashCorp’s matching gift challenge were announced live on air during the broadcast.

“This district is home to our operations and many of our employees,” explained Rob Bubnick, General Manager of PotashCorp Lanigan. “We wanted to help promote the campaign and challenge our neighbours to get involved. Thank you to everyone in the community who called in with their support.”

According to Lorrie Bunko, Executive Director of the Humboldt District Hospital Foundation, the matching gift will help the hospital purchase needed medical technology and equipment.

“The Humboldt district is a rapidly growing area that requires exceptional health care and advanced technology,” Bunko said. “PotashCorp’s support was key to the success of this year’s campaign. Their help promoting the campaign, and making such a significant financial contribution, is deeply appreciated.”

The Humboldt District Health Complex, which includes the Humboldt District Hospital, officially opened its doors in April 2011 thanks to a community-wide fundraising campaign. PotashCorp challenged the community to match its $500,000 contribution, raising $1 million for the new facility.
