WASHINGTON, D.C., March 11, 2013 — Andrew Weissmann, general counsel for the FBI, will speak on “Legal Challenges Posed by New Technologies” at an American Bar Association Standing Committee on Law National Security luncheon program from noon to 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, March 20, at the National Press Club in Washington, D.C.

Weissmann was appointed general counsel of the FBI in 2011, after serving in the private sector and as special counsel to FBI Director Robert Mueller in 2005. As federal prosecutor and chief of the Criminal Division in the Eastern District of New York, Weissmann prosecuted and oversaw numerous white-collar crime and terrorism cases. Weissmann also served as the director of the Enron Task Force, where he supervised the prosecution of 30 individuals involved in the company’s collapse.
