/EINPresswire.com/ Parking Products, Inc. Receives a $30,000 Federal Grant to Upgrade Its Global Competitiveness

Willow Grove, PA - February 21, 2013 -- Parking Products, Inc. is a small company founded in 1969 that designs and manufactures access and control equipment for the nation’s parking lot operators. On January 30th it was awarded $30,000 in technical assistance by the Trade Adjustment Assistance program – bringing to a successful conclusion Phase II of the grant process. MATAAC (representing the Department of Commerce) and the company will now partner in engaging the services of private sector experts to implement a series of knowledge-based projects to enhance the company’s global competitiveness going forward.

Since 1978 MATAAC has assisted hundreds of small businesses in the six-state region like Parking Products to utilize this vital section of The Federal Trade Act. It’s a long-term partnership. First MATAAC proves import injury – a statutory requirement, then develops a plan with management identifying the size of the grant and outlining the various projects to be implemented with it.

When you’re small and being hammered by imports, there’s no guarantee the path forward won’t be occasionally difficult – but this grant can mean the difference between merely surviving and actually thriving (and maybe even welcoming) globalization.
