UKOOA Statement - Drill Cuttings Stakeholder Dialogue, 2 February 2000
Todays meeting of stakeholders to discuss the issues surrounding possible solutions for dealing with accumulations of drill cuttings beneath North Sea offshore installations was both well attended and constructive.
Over 70 delegates contributed to a frank and open discussion, which has encouraged greater understanding of the issues complexities and of the arguments for and against each potential solution. UKOOA appreciates the time and effort delegates put into the workshop and feels that it has a better understanding of the views of its stakeholders.
The Environment Council will shortly issue a report on the stakeholder dialogue proceedings and the views expressed at the meeting will be acknowledged in the development of the Industrys programme for Phase II, to be announced in mid March. The project is due to complete in a years time.
