Appetite for UKOOA Breakfast Feeds Plans for Brunch

Interest in UKOOAs Energy Breakfast next week (Thursday, 6 April 2000) has been so great that the organisers are considering repeating the sell-out presentation at a brunch event to be held later in the morning.

All 250 seats to hear senior Royal Bank of Scotland economists Jeremy Peat and Stephen Boyle launch the results of their latest survey of North East service and supply firms have been taken, with the waiting list growing by the day.

Demand for tables at next weeks Energy Breakfast has been overwhelming, says Dr John Wils, UKOOAs Director of Operational and Technical Affairs. Having two of the Industrys top analysts as guest speakers is clearly a big draw.

The subject of the breakfast meeting is another reason for the high level of interest. The presentation, Analysing the Oil Industry, will examine the interdependence between world economic developments and oil markets. Particular focus will be given to oil prices and their impact on world and UK economies. The talk will also highlight the findings of a new survey published jointly by the Royal Bank of Scotland and Scottish Enterprise, which explores the outlook for the service and supply industry over the next 12 months.

Alan Jones, Regional President Scotland for BP Amoco Exploration, will chair the Energy Breakfast meeting, which is sponsored by The Royal Bank of Scotland. The Bank has confirmed that it will sponsor the next three Breakfasts, which are held at the Martcliffe at Pitfodels Hotel, Aberdeen.
