Piper Alpha 20th Anniversary
Members of staff at Oil & Gas UK, including chief executive Malcolm Webb, will be marking the 20th anniversary of the Piper Alpha disaster by attending the service of remembrance in The Kirk of St Nicholas Uniting, Aberdeen and laying a floral tribute in Hazlehead Park to remember those who perished on 6 July 1988.
Individual companies across the industry will also mark the day by attending the service and act of remembrance, flying flags at half mast and observing a minute silence on their offshore installations to commemorate their 167 colleagues who lost their lives on Piper Alpha.
