Attendance at PILOT Share Fair 12 Breaks All Records
In a clear demonstration of the current buoyant mood in the UK oil and gas industry, more than 1,000 people attended PILOT Share Fair 12 at the AECC yesterday to hear from major operators and contractors about their strategies for future projects in the North Sea. The event, sponsored by CAN, was opened by Malcolm Webb, chief executive, Oil & Gas UK, and Bill Cattanach, Head of PILOT Secretariat, Industry & Technology.
Malcolm Webb said: “Current activities levels in our industry are high. This year’s Share Fair has reflected this by breaking all records and setting a new and incredibly high standard for open and constructive dialogue on our industry's forward investment plans and the work streams and employment which will flow from these."
Brian Kinkead, Oil & Gas UK’s Supply Chain director, added: “On top of over one thousand individual "face to face" sessions, we had more than 160 presentations delivered by a record breaking line-up of 20 companies from both the operator and contractor communities. The feedback from the delegates has been very positive. Operators have been able to meet a wider cross section of the supply chain and raise their business profiles with new contractors. For the supply chain it has been an invaluable chance to hear about a huge range of planned activities and the technologies that will be required."
