From koozies to costumes, new website delivers the goods
It’s easier than ever to find General Mills-branded items such as a Jolly Green Giant kids Halloween costume, Cheerios Racing Team adult T-shirt or Nature Valley water bottle now that Shop.GeneralMills.com is taking orders.
“Until now, there have been only websites offering a very limited assortment of our branded merchandise, and that inventory was either specific to a single brand or only accessible by employees,” says Gregg Dorazio, external partner development manager.
“Shop.GeneralMills.com carries the widest assortment we’ve ever offered,” he says.
The products on the site are produced by the company's 25 existing licensees, “independent businesses that are experts in their industry, whether it’s T-shirts or Halloween costumes,” Dorazio says.
The array of offerings goes beyond just apparel and includes kitchenware, cookbooks, toys and more. Site visitors can shop by category, name and price.
That means people can easily find items such as Cheerios #33 beverage koozies, Pillsbury Doughboy napkin holders, Honey Nut Cheerios kites or Betty Crocker cookbooks.
One-stop, year-round solution The goal, Dorazio says, is to provide a single online shopping site featuring all General Mills brands and corporate logo merchandise. General Mills-branded merchandise is sold in stores such as Target, Old Navy and Urban Outfitters.
“However, it’s not always easy to find exactly the item you are looking for in these retailers,” Dorazio notes.
So Shop.GeneralMills.com becomes the year-round solution with the largest selection.
Seasonally, the site will have exclusive offers. In fact, through Nov. 15, 2010, shoppers can save 10 percent on their first purchase by entering promotional code GM10 at the checkout.

And what about those Halloween costumes? Well, the site could be the answer to being the hit of that holiday party this year.
There are numerous costumes on the site for adults and kids, including Jolly Green Giant, Hamburger Helper and Trix Rabbit outfits for both kids and adults.
