Slim down, tone up - and fight hunger
Forgot to make your healthy New Year’s resolution? Want to slim down, tone up and help in the fight against hunger?
The Pound For Pound Challenge is a program that can do all that. The program supports the General Mills commitment to fostering a culture of health and wellness, while supporting our mission of nourishing communities across America.
So far, nearly 10 million pounds of groceries have been secured on behalf of local Feeding America food banks through the “Pound For Pound Challenge,” which has returned to the “The Biggest Loser” television program.
The 2011 goal is to raise up to $1 million for Feeding America.
For every pound of weight loss pledged through the Pound for Pound Challenge, 11 cents will be donated to Feeding America, up to a maximum donation of $1,040,000. Eleven cents is enough to secure one pound of groceries on behalf of a local food bank.
Also in conjunction with the 2011 "Biggest Loser" series, MultiGrain Cheerios is offering consumers a chance to "Be the Biggest Loser at Home." There, you'll start down a parth to losing weight and become more fit.
The "Biggest Loser" airs Tuesdays at 8 p.m. Eastern time (7 p.m. Central).
