General Mills Taiwan celebrated as a top foreign company

The Taiwanese government has named General Mills Taiwan as an “outstanding” foreign firm for its accomplishments in sustainability, innovation, work culture and community service. General Mills Taiwan recently received the award, in the category of “Outstanding Foreign Firms Based in the Republic of China,” from the General Chamber of Commerce of the Republic of China (Taiwan) at a ceremony Nov. 1.
“This highly recognized award gives credit to foreign companies that contribute to economic development as well as corporate citizenship,” says Catherine Teng, managing director for General Mills Taiwan. “The honor recognizes the efforts of our employees to provide a superior product and service, and to live out our corporate vision to nourish lives in our daily work.”
In market for 30 years For more than 30 years, General Mills products have been in Taiwan, where Green Giant, Häagen-Dazs, Nature Valley and Wanchai Ferry brands are sold. All four brands enjoy leading market share in Taiwan and have high consumer preference.
Green Giant corn and Wanchai Ferry dumplings lead their categories in Taiwan. Green Giant has been honored seven years in a row as “The healthiest can brand” by Common-Health magazine, and Wanchai Ferry dumplings are the No. 1 brand for customer satisfaction among frozen dumplings.
In winning the award, General Mills Taiwan demonstrated achievements as a responsible corporate citizen in areas of sustainability, innovation, work culture and community service.
Eight other companies were honored at the event, including L’Oreal, Pfizer and Toyota.
