Bachmann Releases Constituent Response Videos

Each month my offices get hundreds of phone calls, emails, letters and faxes from constituents across the Sixth District. I always appreciate hearing from the people of my district, and I am honored to have had the opportunity to respond to their questions and concerns by video. Each week in August, I released new videos in a series called “Michele’s Corner.” I hope that this will encourage more people to reach out to my offices. Each of the videos can be found below:

Fast and Furious, AG Holder, and Solyndra

I respond to a great question from Kurt about Fast and Furious, Attorney General Holder and Solyndra, and the importance of government transparency.

Stopping the Small Business Tax Hikes

A number of constituents contacted my office about the tax hikes scheduled to hit on January 1, 2013. I discuss my recent vote to stop President Obama’s tax hikes on small businesses. It is important that my constituents share their views on all matters. Thank you to Laurie from St. Cloud for writing in.

Audit the Fed

I was proud to co-sponsor and vote for Congressman Ron Paul (R-TX)’s legislation to audit the Federal Reserve. I answer a question from Lyle in Hugo, MN about the need for transparency, because the American people deserve to know where and how their money is spent.

Solutions for Healthcare Reform

As the author of the first bill to repeal the president’s health care law, I often get asked by constituents what I want to see for health care reform instead of Obamacare. I respond to a question from Anne in Lake Elmo, MN and outline my solutions to increase health care access while decreasing the cost.

Why Stillwater Needs a New Bridge

I answer a question from Joshua in St. Augusta about why Minnesota needs the new St. Croix River Crossing. The 80-year-old Stillwater bridge is in dire need of replacement and I am so happy that my colleagues from Minnesota and Wisconsin were able to work together to get this legislation passed in a bipartisan manner.

Helping the Middle Class

As I travel across the Sixth District, my constituents express concern over the rising costs of groceries and gasoline. I address these concerns and discuss how lowering energy costs will help the middle class.

Congress is Not Above the Law

I answer a constituent question from Craig in St. Michael about congressional exemptions from legislation. I am opposed to Congressmen granting themselves special privileges. Everyone, including lawmakers, should be equal under the law.

If you live in the Sixth District of Minnesota and want to ask me a question, please do not hesitate to contact my offices
