Eventually the site will add a geographic distance search that uses the API to determine longitude and latitude for the GPS coordinates to show distance from the search location to the web design company.

Web Designers Directory was launched back in 2005, just before the Google Maps API was readily available and available for developers. The original registration system used a database of US zip codes in order to maintain location data integrity. With the establishment of Google Maps API the system can now maintain data integrity and expand to a worldwide market.
The site also plans to expand into a gallery that will showcase the designs of the members. This new feature should come online before the end of summer.
