Demand for Places At PILOT Share Fair 2012 Expected To Be High
Bookings have now opened for the 2012 PILOT Share Fair which takes place on 7 November at the Aberdeen Exhibition and Conference Centre. The annual event, which has grown continually in attendance to over 1,100 last year, allows major operators, independents, subsea specialists and contractors of all sizes to take part in an interactive forum that encourages open dialogue about business opportunities in the oil and gas sector.
Oil & Gas UK’s supply chain director, David Ripley, said: “Following the package of tax measures announced by the Chancellor in March, the industry is looking towards a more stable future which should attract additional investment worth tens of millions of pounds and the production of hundreds of millions of barrels of oil and gas from the UK continental shelf. With the rise in business confidence, companies are keen to share their work plans for the next 18 months with attendees.”
Fourteen companies have already confirmed their plans to present at the event which is attracting high levels of interest. The current list of presenting companies includes Aker Solutions, AMEC, Apache North Sea Ltd, BP, Centrica Energy, Chevron, Dana Petroleum plc, EnQuest Britain Limited, GDF SUEZ E&P UK Ltd, Statoil (U.K.) Limited, Talisman Energy UK Ltd, Technip UK Limited, TOTAL E&P UK Limited and Wood Group PSN, with more expected to register in the next few weeks.
Mr Ripley added: “The benefits for operators include the opportunity to raise their profile with a wide cross-section of the supply chain and source innovative technologies. Small to medium sized companies in the UK’s highly competitive indigenous supply chain who are attending will have access to people with information about upcoming drilling programmes, technology requirements, integrity projects and plans for operations and maintenance work, all well in advance of formal tendering processes.”
Participation at PILOT Share Fair is an important aspect of the Supply Chain Code of Practice, which aims to drive out waste, achieve overall efficiencies and boost competitiveness.
