Canadian-developed and owned, Plastonix has developed a patented technology that addresses many of the systemic barriers that have historically inhibited recovery of discarded plastic – including hard-to-recycle varieties – and other petroleum-derived materials. Plastonix’s technology comprises methods, systems, apparatuses, and a proprietary lipid agent to process up to 10 unique petroleum-derived material types together or separately in order to convert them into a usable chip or powdered material. This can be further repurposed as a filler or parallel material for virgin plastic resins or converted to a composite material, paving material, or construction units such as block paving stones, tile beams, sheets, or boards. Using Plastonix’s plant-based processing agent and one of three of its production line systems, plastic is converted to processable chips or powdered material at a rate of 1 to 30 tons per hour. The Plastonix technology uses an infusion process that does not require any sorting, cleaning, or recycling. Simply dump all types of discarded waste into the Plastonix processing vat at the same time.
