Silver Chef Limited's continued strong growth has resulted in the ASX-listed company moving to new Brisbane headquarters more than double the size of its original Milton offices where it started operations 26 years ago.
Silver Chef's original business model was to sell conveyer ovens to cater to the booming home delivery pizza market. Before long, it soon became clear to Allan English, the company's founder and managing director, that many fledgling pizza businesses could not afford to buy these ovens. His solution, which proved to be quite successful, was to rent out the equipment. This new business model, which would come to be known as Rent-Try-Buy(R), became the centre of Silver Chef's success.

The Brisbane-based hospitality equipment financier made the move across the river to a 1760sqm office space at West East Corporate Park on Pidgeon Close.

"This office move is a significant milestone for Silver Chef after recently reporting another strong profit, Silver Chef Chief Executive Officer," Charles Gregory said.

"Increases of over 30% for the last six months in net profit, rental revenues and rental assets and our projection of further growth in the second half and beyond, supports the decision to move to larger offices. The new headquarters reflect our confidence in a continued growth story, including our expansion into New Zealand. After 10 years at Milton we outgrew the space and this West End office allows us to grow our workforce to cater for new market opportunities," he added.
