Bet on Kentucky Derby Website Releases Their 2012 Picks

The team at BetonKentucyDerby.org has released their favorite betting picks for the 2012 Kentucky Derby.

/EINPresswire.com/ Each year, on the first Saturday in May, a great number of people flock from all over the free world to take part in the annual Kentucky Derby at historical Churchill Downs racetrack in Louisville, Kentucky.

While "The Run for the Roses" is best experienced in person, it can also be seen via national television, thus making it one of the most wagered on events in all of sporting, and there are many different ways to go about it. For those interested in wagering online the team at BetonKentuckyDerby.org highly recommends casual bettors check out Bovada. They've done their research (including 5 years of betting the Derby online) and Bovada.lv is one of the highest rated betting sites overall.

Long shots are fun, front runners are easy, but some real money can be made from the mid table horses in terms of odds that appear in each year's big race. It's a fact that at least 1/3 of the winners of the Kentucky Derby since it began in 1875 have been considered mid runners.

While there are many choices for this year's crop, the team at Bet on Kentucky Derby have narrowed it down to just a few they like in this year's running of the 138th Kentucky Derby.

BetonKentuckyDerby.org's Expert Picks:

Take Charge Indy - An obvious choice for this list. Look no further than the man behind the beast here. Piloted by crafty and sometimes dicey jockey Calvin Borel, Take Charge will go off with a real good chance in this one. Bore has jockeyed the winning horse three times out of the last five years. The horse--well he has gotten off to a strong start so far in 2012. With Borel on the reigns, Take Charge has placed in both of his appearances this year. One second place finish in the AlwOC, and in its most recent race was the winner in the Florida Derby-G1.

I'll Have Another - Another horse on this list that has had a promising start to the 2012 campaign. In both of this colt's appearances thus far he has won. The jockey in the stirrups may not have the pedigree of a Borel, but he has had a nice start to his own 2012 season. In this month alone Mario Gutierrez has eight top three showings in his twenty races. But he'll have his work cut out on Derby as I'll Have Another is in the dreaded 19th gate. No horse has ever won the Kentucky Derby at Churchill Downs from the 19th post position.

Daddy Nose Best -Shockingly, this horse has also gotten off to a wonderful start this year. Getting the theme here? The only thing with this Steve Asmussen trainee is that it will be the first time Garrett Gomez has ever ridden him. That aside, he has won the Sunland Derby-G3 and the El Camino Real Derby-G3 this year. It will be interesting to see how Daddy Nose Best responds to this new jockey that has made nine appearances in the Kentucky Derby with his best finish coming in 2009 on Pioneer of the Nile, who ran second.

El Padrino - The trainer for this horse is no stranger to winning this illustrious event. Todd Pletcher won the 2010 Kentucky Derby with Super Saver. In 2011 he led all trainers in monies won with such stable stars as Stay Thirsty and Awesome Maria. Now he's back with two horses in this year's event. One of them is actually one of the morning line favorites, and the other one is El Padrino. This Let's Go Stable colt, like all of the others on this list, has gotten off to a whale of a start on the year. He has been run three times, and has won two of those events. One of those wins was actually over Take Charge Indy who will start 12 spots inside in at post position 3.Running this far from the rail is the only question for this horse.

Their mid runner exacta: Take Charge Indy and El Padrino. Both of these horses seem to be in the zone coming into Saturday's main event.
