Madison County intends to seek funding for road improvement projects through HUD’s CDBG-DR funding. The funding is intended to support disaster-impacted areas in recovering from Presidentially declared disasters, as well as supporting long-term recovery and resilience efforts.

Madison County is hosting a public meeting to receive comments on proposed road improvement projects aimed at rehabilitating roads previously damaged by hurricanes, as well as mitigation measures to ensure proper County access during emergencies. The County plans on applying for an estimated $3,200,000 to fund the projects.

The proposed road improvement projects are:

  • Circle Road: Dirt to paved road conversion, due to severe erosion and washout during storm damage.
    • From CR256 to Loop (1.63 miles)
  • NE Almond Ave: Pavement repair from hurricane damage
    • From Rocky Springs Church Rd to Rocky Ford Rd (2.24 miles)
  • NE Shrine Club Dr- Pavement repair from hurricane damage
    • From NE Almond Ave to SR145 (1.09 miles)

The public meeting will be held at 229 SW Pinckney Street, Room 107, Madison, Florida 32340 on September 25, 2025, at 5.P.M.

Madison County intends to seek funding for an Emergency Operations Center through HUD’s CDBG-DR funding. The funding is intended to support disaster-impacted areas in recovering from Presidentially declared disasters, as well as supporting long-term recovery and resilience efforts.

Madison County is hosting a public meeting to receive comments on a proposed project to rehabilitate and rebuild the Emergency Operations Center, previously damaged by hurricanes. The project is aimed at creating infrastructure within Madison County that would have the capacity to support staff and staff support in the event of a natural disaster. The County intends to request an estimated $8,000,000 for the project.

The project would include:

  • Permanent hurricane-resistant EOC built per FEMA P-361 standards
  • Facility equipment to support emergency occupancy
  • Mobile trailer to enable command when primary center is inaccessible
