Melanne Verveer, Ambassador-at-Large for Global Women’s Issues, will travel to Casablanca and Rabat, Morocco and Tunis, Tunisia from March 31 – April 6, 2012.

She will be meeting with government, civil society, and business leaders to discuss ways to advance women’s empowerment and political and economic participation. On Thursday in Tunis, Ambassador Verveer will convene the Working Group on Women’s Empowerment as part of the Department of State’s Strategic Dialogue with Civil Society, and will meet with women leaders from Egypt, Libya, Tunisia, Jordan and Morocco.
