During the second half of August, APK-Inform Agency realized the mass polling of agricultural producers in the major regions of Russia, which suffered from the droughts most of all. The polling was realized via phone interviewing of the Heads and/ or the Chief Agronomists using the specialized system SurveyAPK (software for interviewing and primary operation of the received data). During the polling our experts interviewed over 500 farming enterprises from the Volga Federal District (the Republic of Bashkortostan, the Republic of Tatarstan, Orenburgh, Samara, Saratov oblasts), the Central Federal District (Voronezh, Tambov, Belgorod oblasts), the Urals Federal District (Chelyabinsk, Kurgan oblasts), the Southern Federal District (Volgograd oblast). The data of the polling will become the base for the renewed forecasts of APK-Inform Agency regarding grains and oilseeds harvest in 2010.
