San Francisco, CA — A 27-year-old woman, who was walking her dog, was injured when she tried to climb over the connector of two Muni Metro cars Thursday afternoon, February 23, 2012. The accident occurred in San Francisco’s Inner Sunset neighborhood around 1:23 p.m., reported the San Francisco Chronicle.
According to officials, the woman and her dog were trying to cross Irving Street when she climbed over the connector of the two-cars of the N-Judah train.
The woman made it across but the dog, which is a mixed breed with short legs, couldn’t make it over the connector when the train started moving. The train began moving toward Second Avenue, dragging her a short distance.
The woman sustained a few bumps, bruises and scrapes and was taken to San Francisco General Hospital. The dog was not injured.
Police say the accident could have been much worse. If she would have gone under the train, the metal wheels could have amputated any part of her body they came into contact with.
