Dorchester, MA — A three-alarm fire injured two firefighters and a boy early Monday morning, February 20, 2012 in Dorchester. The fire ignited on Harvard Avenue just before 6 a.m. at a triple-decker home, reported NECN.

According to reports, the fire ignited on the second floor of the building, in which the heavy smoke and flames tore through the walls.

The first firefighter to enter the building suffered injuries to his face and neck, while a second firefighter sustained chest pains and shortness of breath.

Responding emergency crews also rushed a 13-year-old boy to Mass General Hospital with burn injuries.

All three victims are in stable condition, and are expected to be okay.

The fire caused an estimated $500,000 worth of damages. Officials say the home was a total loss.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.

The fire has displaced nine people, including four adults and five children.
