Rochester City School Bus Overturns in SUV Crash, Injures 6

Rochester, NY — A Rochester City school bus and SUV collision injured six people Tuesday morning, February 14, 2012. The school bus accident occurred on State Street near the 490 overpass downtown around 9:10 a.m., reported 13Wham.com.
Rochester Police reported that the SUV was traveling south on State Street when it drove through a red light and crashed into the bus. The impact spun the bus 360-degrees and caused it to overturn onto its side.
Responding emergency crews rushed three students, two drivers, and a bus attendant to an area hospital for treatment of minor injuries.
The fourteen students on the bus at the time are reportedly from School #2.
Rochester Police cited the driver of the SUV, Charles Cotton, with improper lane change and for disregarding a traffic signal.
The identities of the injured are being withheld at this time.
Investigations are underway.
