Efforts remain targeted towards basic needs of hunger relief and
shelter
MINNEAPOLIS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 31, 2012--
The NFC Foundation, a Nash Finch Company (Nasdaq: NAFC) charitable
organization, today announced that $469,000 in grants and donations were
provided to nonprofit organizations in 2011, representing a 15% increase
in giving over 2010.
The NFC Foundation provides funding to selected nonprofits in areas
where Nash Finch associates live and work, primarily in the foundation’s
focus areas of hunger relief and shelter.

The NFC Foundation also made donations totaling $105,000 to a variety of
local hunger relief agencies in 21 markets in which the company operates
distribution centers in the Midwest, Great Lakes and Southeastern United
States.

The NFC Foundation also administers the Feeding Imagination®
educational program which donates new and gently used K-6 reading books
to children and nonprofits assisting them. Since the inception of the
program in December of 2006, more than 132,500 books have been donated.
