You’re Invited: Community budget workshop on June 5
Let’s Talk Budget!
This coming Wednesday, June 5, we’re hosting a community workshop to participate in A Balancing Act, which is a budget simulation tool that allows YOU to share your input by increasing and decreasing service levels for City functions to create a balanced budget.
- When: 6-8 p.m. on June 5 (We will have an overview presentation then break attendees into groups to complete the exercise)
- Where: Carnegie Building, 200 W 9th St.
- More info: We’ll have light refreshments and water available for all participants
Why it matters: The benefit of these community workshops is you’ll be working in a group to submit a budget, and you’ll need to figure out what you prioritize among your varying interests in order to make decisions about the budget your group submits.
The information from A Balancing Act is vitally important in our budget process — it’s your opportunity to get involved and make your priorities known!
Next steps: Help us spread the word! To get more community members aware and interested, we’re asking you to forward this invitation to five people you know who you think would be a welcome voice to have at the meeting. The more the merrier!
We appreciate your help and involvement in the budget.
