PotashCorp Takes Top Spot in The Globe & Mail Board Games

For the second year in a row, PotashCorp has been chosen as having the best corporate governance practices in Canada, according to The Globe & Mail’s annual Board Games rankings.

Now in its 10th year, the Board Games rankings assess the practices of hundreds of Canadian companies across four categories: board composition; shareholding and compensation; shareholder rights and disclosure. PotashCorp scored a total of 96 points out of 100 to earn top spot.

PotashCorp scored 12 out of 12 in the disclosure category, which considers how fully a company discloses information to shareholders and community stakeholders.

In a related interview, Mary Mogford, a PotashCorp director, told The Globe & Mail, “I think it’s really important to keep your eye on what you’re there for, which is for the business and long-term value creation.”
