Maine businesses partner with Veterans non-profit to help keep Veterans warm
HAMPDEN, Maine (WABI) - A big check to help veterans in Maine stay warm this winter was presented in Hampden this morning.
Coastal Auto Parts happily handed over the check for more than nine-thousand dollars to R-H Foster Energy for Maine Veterans Project.
The money will be used to help veterans heat their homes.
The campaign kicked off when Coastal Auto Parts pledged 25-hundred dollars in November.
The family-owned company operates 29 stores around the state.
Part of this was possible through paper *M-V-P* logos sold at their stores from Thanksgiving to November.
They also raised a grand at a tool show hosted by Coastal Maine Auto Parts at the Cross Insurance Center.
The check was presented at RH Foster’s corporate office just before noon Thursday.
Coastal Auto Parts Co-Owner, Michael Boles said, “Coastal Auto Parts happily handed over the check for more than nine-thousand dollars to R-H Foster Energy for Maine Veterans Project.”
President of the Maine Veterans Project, Shawn “Doc” Goodwin said, “Considering we started out this program offering $50 worth of heating fuel eight years ago, to have a $10,000 contribution to what we can do today is amazing.”
Maine Veterans Project is a non-profit has offered programs and services for veterans across the state since 2015.
