IFS and Swiss Sooj seal a deal for a unique food-venture in Saudi

Nov 24, 2011 (PRN): IFS, a Saudi-based food processing, distribution & catering company that is partly owned by GrowthGate the GCC specialist buyout firm, has executed a final agreement with Swiss Sooj to establish a ready-meals plant in Saudi Arabia. Swiss Sooj is majority owned by Sooj International with Gate Gourmet, the world’s largest independent provider of catering services for airlines and railroads, as a minority partner. The plant, hailed, as a first in the GCC will produce ready meals for retail packs, Hajj and Umra pilgrim meals, office lunch boxes and airline meals. The plant will be set using cutting edge technology and state of the art equipment specifically used to contain meals for ready use, with longer shelf time and to preserve the uniqueness of flavor and freshness. The plant will produce sterilized and pasteurized meals, frozen meals, and fresh meals.

IFS bring to the venture decades of experience in food processing, distribution of food products and mass catering in Saudi covering pilgrims and the labor sector.
