South Florida Philanthropist Supports AJC with Major Gift

November 22, 2011 – Miami – AJC has received a major legacy gift from Richard Shusterman, a local philanthropist and businessman. The $1 million gift will boost the global advocacy organization’s efforts to deepen understanding of and support for Israel.

“The fundamental core of AJC’s mission is its ability to educate world leaders about Israel, and the reason why I am honored to be associated with AJC,” said Shusterman.

Shusterman, who is originally from Philadelphia and now lives in South Florida, is the Chairman of Pan Asian Commercial Consulting Group, LLC, and actively involved in global business transactions.

“AJC, indeed the Jewish people, are stronger with the engagement and support of Richard Shusterman and likeminded activists devoted to assuring Israel’s security and prosperity,” said Brian Siegal, director of AJC’s Miami and Broward County Regional Office.

AJC, founded in 1906, is the premier global Jewish advocacy organization, with offices across the United States and around the world. Key areas of focus are: Combating anti-Semitism, supporting Israel's quest for peace and security; and strengthening Jewish life.

Reuters has called AJC “one of the world's most influential Jewish interest groups," and The New York Times called AJC “the dean of American Jewish organizations."
