CHICAGO - As hundreds of libraries across the country celebrated the fourth annual National Gaming Day @ your library on November 12, a variety of media outlets took notice and highlighted the programs and events happening in their own communities.

Participating libraries held a variety of gaming activities including board games, role playing games, an international “Epic Super Smash Bros. Brawl” tournament, a retro 30th anniversary “Frogger” contest and more.

The American Library Association’s (ALA) Public Information Office (PIO) worked closely with National Gaming Day sponsor, FamilyAndPartyGames.com, to publicize the events. Media placement highlights include:  USA Today, Newsday, the Press of Atlantic City, Minneapolis Star Tribune, School Library Journal, The Oregonian, Oswego Patch, The Courier-News, The Record, Purple Pawn, The Times Leader, Rome Sentinel and many more.

National Gaming Day @ your library is an annual initiative sponsored by the American Library Association, to reconnect communities through their libraries around the educational, recreational and social value of all types of games.
