KYOCERA Headquarters 2011 Holiday Illumination Canceled due to Power Supply Concerns

November 14, 2011

Due to concerns over power supply shortages in the winter months, Kyocera Corporation will cancel its annual holiday illumination decorations of the public garden area and building of the Kyocera headquarters in Kyoto, Japan which normally runs from late-November through the end of the year.

Since 1998, Kyocera has held this annual winter tradition for the local community to enjoy the holiday season. However, with concerns over power supply shortages this winter following the aftereffects of the March 11 disaster, those within the Kansai Electric Power Co., Inc. service area are being asked to conserve electricity, and thus Kyocera has voluntarily decided to cancel this year’s illumination.

Kyocera apologizes to everyone that was looking forward to the holiday event and asks for your kind understanding.
