Corporate Taxation, Debt Instruments, and Federal, State and Local Legislative Tax Updates Among Topics at Philadelphia Tax Conference

WASHINGTON, D.C., Nov. 10, 2011 — The latest federal, state and international developments in tax legislation and corporate taxation regulation will be the focus of the 22nd Annual Philadelphia Tax Conference on Nov. 16 –17.  Nationally recognized speakers from the government and private sector will provide in-depth discussion and analysis of tax issues as they relate to financially troubled partnerships and debt work-outs, controversies in litigation, employee benefits and international business.

Jasper L. “Jack” Cummings, former associate chief counsel of the Internal Revenue Service, will focus on the Supreme Court’s relationship to federal taxation during his luncheon remarks on Nov. 16 during a 12:15 – 1:45 p.m. session.  Gilbert S. Rothenberg, Tax Division of the U.S. Department of Justice, will be the luncheon speaker on Nov. 17 from noon – 1:30 p.m.  His remarks will serve as a view from the Department of Justice and explore trends in tax litigation.
