Dallas's Poorest High Schools Gain a Gift of Hope
/EINPresswire.com/ Empower American Children and Vision Warrior has inspire over 3000 teens in Dallas High Schools to stop using drugs and alcohol and change their life.
Empower American Children, a non-profit organization working to inspire youths in Dallas to follow their dreams, have brought seasoned and professional actor Scot Anthony Robinson, from Vision Warrior, to four of the poorest Dallas high schools to break the silence about issues facing youths on a daily basis. Already 3000 high school youths have in Dallas High Schools such as South Oak Cliff, L.G Pinkston and Lincoln High, have been touched by Scot Robinson's riveting performance about his downward spiral into heroin addition, near death abortion, violence on the streets.
"Empower American Children has played a great part in empowering L.G. Pinkston students," said Norma Vegas, Principal of L.G. Pinkston High School. "The inspiration is priceless and can be used to impel them for a lifetime."
Vision Warrior is an ADDY award winning presentation that leaves the students with exposure to the realistic chain of events that can occur when peer acceptance and "coolness" become more important than the self within. The students witness a ninety-minute monologue and then ask challenging questions in a one-hour long, grade specific post presentation forum. Teens are encouraged to build their inner strength, self confidence, and set of inner truths to help them make it through the tough times when they may be asked to do things that would dishonor or harm themselves.
"Vision Warrior along with Empower American Children has played a great part in empowering students, " said Scot Robinson, Actor and Founder of Vision Warrior. "I've heard from thousands of teens that the presentation has inspired them to stop using drugs and alcohol and changed their life."
Teachers, coaches and counselors, parents, administrators, community leaders are invited to engage in the conversation with Empower American Children and Scot Robinson at www.EmpowerAmericanChildren.org. The program would not be possible without the charitable gift from Andrew Tobias and Joel Greenblatt.
