CANADA, April 4 - FREDERICTON (GNB) – The following statement was issued today by Premier Blaine Higgs regarding the results of the provincial election on Prince Edward Island:

I congratulate Premier Dennis King on his re-election and his Progressive Conservatives on their majority win. I am confident that his experience, and that of his team, will serve him well as he continues in this role.

New Brunswick and Prince Edward Island share a history and culture, and our residents are tied together by family and friendship. This means our provinces share a strong working relationship that reflects an understanding of the unique challenges we face in our region.

I look forward to continuing to work together with Premier King so we can find ways to make our region an even better place to call home.
