2-1-23 weather update

UPDATE AS OF 2/1/23 6:00 AM

WVU Tech will shift to online class instruction until 10:00 a.m. on February 1, 2023 due to inclement weather and to allow more time for the roadways to be cleared.

The campus is NOT closed and classes are NOT cancelled.

Essential employees are to report on regular schedule.

Other employees should work with their supervisors to shift to online/virtual work, if possible. Employees should discuss work needs and location assignments with their supervisors.

Classes already offered online and those in hybrid form will also continue as planned. Students on clinical rotations should check in with their program directors for additional guidance.

The remainder of the University, including dining services, will operate on a normal schedule.

When in-class instruction resumes on Wednesday morning, if students cannot get to class because of adverse weather or road conditions, they should contact their instructors as soon as possible.

If faculty are unable to get to class, they are also asked to notify their students as soon as possible so that students do not embark on unnecessary travel.

Employees and students should use good judgment when traveling to work or class in inclement weather.

Employees should work with their supervisors to take annual leave or flex their schedule if they are unable to get to work. Supervisors are asked to be flexible and understanding with their direct reports if they are unable to make it to work.

Reminder: Tech e-alert
Students and employees are encouraged to update their information and ensure it is correct in the e-alert system. Students are automatically enrolled and also have the option to add contact information for parents or other family members through their account. Faculty and staff are urged to register with WVU Tech Alert or update their information if already registered.
