The boutique litigation firm added former federal prosecutor Scott D. Tenley to its trial team

LOS ANGELES, CA, UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, January 24, 2023 /EINPresswire.com/ -- Downtown litigation boutique Zweiback, Fiset & Zalduendo LLP expanded its elite white-collar defense and litigation practice with the addition of partner Scott D. Tenley, the firm announced Monday.

An experienced trial lawyer and former federal prosecutor, Tenley regularly represents individuals and businesses faced with high-stakes criminal, civil, and regulatory challenges. His practice focuses on criminal and regulatory enforcement defense, complex civil litigation in state and federal courts, and compliance counseling.

From 2014 to 2021, Tenley was an Assistant United States Attorney based in Los Angeles and Orange County. His work in the U.S. Attorney's Office included wide-ranging investigations and prosecutions of wire and mail fraud, healthcare fraud, and money laundering offenses, and his extensive trial experience included one of the largest multi-defendant trials handled in the Office in the past decade. Among other notable matters, Tenley prosecuted the largest healthcare fraud in California history, involving nearly $1 billion in fraudulent billing for surgical referrals to Pacific Hospital of Long Beach generated by over $50 million in illegal kickback payments. "We are thrilled to have Scott join our team," said partner Jeanine Zalduendo. "His robust trial experience and renowned criminal litigation successes make Scott an invaluable addition to our firm. I am excited for this opportunity to work alongside him."

Prior to his work with the U.S. Department of Justice, Tenley served as a commercial litigator and white-collar defense attorney for multiple Big Law firms in New York City. He also served as a law clerk to United States District Judge Cormac J. Carney in the Central District of California. He graduated Phi Beta Kappa from The George Washington University and holds a law degree from the University of Virginia School of Law.

Firm co-founder Michael Zweiback said Monday that the depth of Tenley’s experience would be invaluable to the firm’s white-collar clients.

"Scott is a tremendous client advocate who already has had a wide range of experience defending clients prosecuted or under investigation by the Department of Justice and other state and federal enforcement agencies. While he only recently left the government, he has quickly proven himself to be a rising star among white-collar lawyers,” said Zweiback. “We are very lucky to have him join us as we continue to strengthen an already highly accomplished group of trial lawyers."
