GLOBAL, January 24, 2023 /EINPresswire.com/ -- The DCRO Institute, a global nonprofit focused on bringing risk expertise to the boardroom and c-suite, announced today the award of the prestigious Certificate in Risk Governance® to Daniel J. Elmore of Idaho Falls, Idaho, in the United States.

Dan most recently served as the Founding Executive Director of the INL Wireless Security Institute at the Idaho National Laboratory. He led a national security-focused R&D organization conducting early-stage and applied research in the areas of cybersecurity, dynamic spectrum sharing, 5G+ wireless security, power signals analysis, and other critical infrastructure security areas, including the electric energy sector. Prior to his time at INL, Dan was the Chief, Cyberspace Integration Division for the United States Air Force, where he retired from the Air Force with the rank of Colonel. His career spans more than 35 years and includes extensive experience in national/strategic continuity policy development, planning, and implementation at the White House and other federal executive branch departments and agencies.

Dan earned his MS in Systems Technology from the Naval Postgraduate School, his MA in Computer and Information Resource Management from Webster University, and his BS in Electrical Engineering from the Michigan Technological University.

"When Dan and I first spoke, I was incredibly impressed by his knowledge and the importance of his work," said David R. Koenig, President and Chief Executive Officer of the DCRO Institute. "I encouraged his enrollment in our programs as the addition of risk governance credentials to his already impressive background makes him an outstanding board candidate," he continued.

The Certificate in Risk Governance® is awarded to those who have completed The Board Members' Course on Risk® - an intensive 17-course education program and evaluation. The curriculum is designed for current and aspiring board members who seek to advance the governance of risk-taking at their organizations and those who interact with boards. Taught by some of the world's leading figures in risk governance, the program features lessons by nearly 50 board members, c-level executives, and well-known authors from five continents. No course on risk for board members as robust as this - depth, practicality, and global expertise - exists anywhere else.

“This is a world-class program! I highly recommend this course whether or not you are a current board member, aspire to be one, or are looking to enrich your contributions to your organization,” said Mr. Elmore. “The diverse and highly qualified slate of speakers and lecturers provides for a rich and well-rounded learning experience,” he continued.
