Winn-Dixie Stores, Inc. (NASDAQ: WINN), today announced that flu vaccinations are now available in all Winn-Dixie in-store pharmacies to help prepare guests for the upcoming flu season. Guests will receive the flu vaccine for the discounted rate of $24.99 when purchased using their Winn-Dixie Customer Reward Card.

"The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommends that people get a flu vaccine as soon as it becomes available in their community," said John Fegan, vice president of pharmacy for Winn-Dixie. "With the flu season approaching, our skilled and knowledgeable pharmacists are now able to offer guests quick and easy options to receive the flu vaccine while grocery shopping - either on-the-go or by appointment. This is one of many benefits people will find at their neighborhood Winn-Dixie."

Guests can secure a flu shot in any Winn-Dixie in-store pharmacy on a "walk-in" basis or can schedule an appointment online at www.winndixie.com/pharmacy.

Winn-Dixie pharmacies will offer a regular flu shot approved for people ages 6 months and older and a high-dose flu shot approved for people 65 and older. Certain age restrictions may apply in some states regarding pharmacist administration of vaccinations. Guests are encouraged to see their neighborhood Winn-Dixie pharmacist for details.

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the best method of protection against the flu is vaccination and it is recommended that all people age six months and older receive a flu vaccination every year. In addition, Winn-Dixie pharmacists recommend washing your hands frequently; wiping down telephones, remote controls, and door knobs with disinfectant; and keeping tissues handy to stop the spread of viruses.
