Actor Ryan O’Neal’s Son Injured in Escondido Automobile Accident

San Diego County, CA — The son of actor Ryan O’Neal has been hospitalized following an automobile accident in San Diego County, Tuesday afternoon, August 2, 2011. Griffin O’Neal was injured after his vehicle veered into oncoming traffic on San Pasqual Valley Road in Escondido, reported CBS Los Angeles.
According to San Diego police, Griffin O’Neal was traveling east on San Pasqual Valley Road when his car veered into an oncoming lane of traffic, where he crashed into another motor vehicle.
Griffin O’Neal reportedly complained of pain before being taken to Palomar Medical Center for treatment. He was listed stable condition, before being released from the hospital later that day.
It was not reported if the other driver was injured or if Griffin is facing any charges related to the automobile accident.
The accident comes after Griffin’s brother, Redmond O’Neal, was arrested Tuesday for a red light infraction, violating felony drug probation and possession of a controlled substance. Redmond is being held without bail.
Investigations are underway.
