UPDATE: 1 Additional Unauthorized Health Product Tested:May Pose Serious Health Risks
July 25, 2011
For immediate release
OTTAWA - Health Canada is advising Canadians that we have updated our list of unauthorized health products to include a new product, "Tibet Babao," which was found to contain undeclared sildenafil, a prescription erectile dysfunction drug. This product and several others have been removed from sale at the Happy Paradise Adult Store in Burnaby, B.C.
We would like to remind Canadians that prescription medication should only be used under the supervision of a health care practitioner.
Health Canada first communicated in June 2011 on a number of unauthorized health products removed from sale in two stores in Burnaby and Richmond, B.C. Should any new products or issues be identified, Health Canada will continue to update our current list of affected products. Canadians are advised to monitor this list of affected products for any possible updates.
