Toronto, Ontario -- KINROSS GOLD CORPORATION (TSE-K, NYSE-KGC) announced that it has acquired an aggregate of 141,900 common shares of Welcome Opportunities Ltd. ("Welcome") through the facilities of the Toronto Stock Exchange. Kinross now holds an aggregate of 1,960,886 shares representing 43.3% of the issued and outstanding common shares of Welcome and has acquired these shares for investment purposes.
