Challenges Faced by Supply Chain the Focus of Aberdeen Breakfast Briefing

Leading figures from three diverse supply chain companies will be presenting their views on the opportunities and challenges they face at Oil & Gas UK’s forthcoming breakfast briefing on Thursday 30 June at Aberdeen’s Exhibition and Conference Centre.
At the event sponsored by The Royal Bank of Scotland, Robin Davies, Subsea 7’s vice president, integration and business improvement, will reveal the benefits of bringing together two existing strong businesses with complementary skills and expertise following his company’s recent merger with fellow subsea firm, Acergy.

Simon Seaton, Halliburton’s country vice president in the UK, will expand on what is needed for a global well services company to continue to invest in the UK continental shelf (UKCS) while also expanding its international and US footprint.
The challenge of continuing to grow in the North Sea while successfully breaking into new international markets is the focus for Steve Nicol, chief executive officer of Red Spider, an SME specialising in game-changing well intervention and completion products.
Brian Kinkead, Oil & Gas UK’s supply chain director, will then join the speakers in a panel session chaired by chief executive, Malcolm Webb, to answer questions from the audience.
Mr Kinkead said: “A world class supply chain has developed alongside more than forty years of oil and gas exploration and production in the UK. It supports operators in their quest to prolong the life of mature assets and innovates to enable development of new, technically complex fields in one of the most demanding oil and gas provinces in the world.
“The supply chain has developed an unrivalled range of products, services and expertise and we need to ensure its long term sustainability.  With the uncertainty for the supply chain brought about by recent tax changes, it is all the more important to refocus our efforts on anchoring the sector in the UK.
“This event also provides the opportunity to discuss the significant potential of the export market for companies to diversify. It promises to be a thought-provoking and particularly topical briefing so I would advise you to book early to avoid disappointment.”
