Dr Susan Lim Highlights Medical Innovations In Stem Cells In Recent Speeches

SINGAPORE -- Dr. Susan Lim, of Susan Lim Surgery, in recognition of her medical contributions, was recently invited to speak at several key conferences located in Singapore and India. Speaking engagements included talks at TEDx Singapore, the INK Conference - In Association with†TED, and the HUGO-ICBAR Congress.

At the TEDx Singapore event, Dr Susan Lim was invited to speak together with other women about ideas that will change the world. The conference was held in conjunction with the first†TED†women's conference launched in Washington, D.C.,†USA, and Dr Lim's presentation was streamed live at the Washington event.
At the†INK†Conference - In Association with†TED hosted in Lavasa, India, Dr Lim received a standing ovation for sharing her personal experiences in retrieving organs from executed prisoners while she was seven months pregnant. Lim spoke alongside such esteemed persons as James Cameron, the renowned director of Avatar and New York Times bestselling author, Deepak Chopra.
Finally, as a member of the Scientific Committee of the 27th Human Genome Organization (HUGO) - International Association of Breast Cancer Research (IABCR) Congress 2010, Lim spoke as an active stem cell researcher who is an advocate for translational stem cell research. She works diligently to bring the science of stem cells from bench to the bedside. Over 260 international and local attendees from 16 countries participated in the 2-day event. Susan Lim served as chair for the third session of the first day's symposium entitled 'Tissue Repair.'

In addition to speaking and lecturing, Dr Lim is also the co-author, together with Professor Malcolm Alison of 'Stem Cells of the Human Liver: Basic Science and Clinical Applications,' The first chapter in Stem Cells: From Bench to Bedside, Second Edition, the work is a guide for basic scientists, clinician scientists and translational clinicians in the new area of stem cell translational medicine.
