EPA Recognizes College and University Green Power Leaders

The Big Ten conference surpassed the Ivy League conference as the top athletic conference in the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's (EPA's) College and University Green Power Challenge. The Big Ten purchased more than 256 million kilowatt-hours (kWh) annually.

The University of Pennsylvania continues to be the top individual school in the green power challenge, by purchasing approximately 200 million kWh, equivalent to nearly half of the university's electricity needs. The 69 institutions competing in the challenge collectively purchase more than 1.5 billion kWh of green power annually.
