Seoul, 28 April 2011 - Cargill and Seoul National University (SNU) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to co-operate on a technology application center at SNU’s GreenBio Research Complex, an innovative institution in cutting-edge life sciences and technology research located in Pyeongchang, Kangwon province.

As part of this co-operation, Cargill will contribute US$2.5 million for the construction of the technology application center. Named the “Cargill Agri Purina Technology Application Center”, the center will host a laboratory area for use by Cargill’s animal nutrition business and SNU researchers as well as meeting facilities. The center will also serve as a key training facility for Cargill’s customers and employees from around the Asia region.

“SNU’s invitation to Cargill to be the only company in the animal nutrition business to establish a technology center at the GreenBio Research Complex is testament to Cargill’s history of successful collaboration with the university. The center will foster further research collaboration between Cargill and SNU, and help to deploy Cargill technology to local markets,” said Dr. Tae-Gyu Kim, Director of Research and Technology of Cargill’s animal nutrition business in Korea.
