Tokyo (March 14, 2011) - First of all, Bridgestone Group would like to express their condolences to the families who lost loved ones in the 2011 off the Pacific Coast of Tohoku (Northeastern Part of Japan) Earthquake Disaster, and truly hope that the area devastated by the earthquake disaster will be reconstructed as soon as possible.
The status of damage of Bridgestone factories following the earthquake disaster, is as follows. The information is as of 9:00 AM of March 14th, 2011.

(1) Tochigi Factory, Nasu Factory, Kuroiso Factory, Tokyo Factory
There is no critical damage. Bridgestone has stopped the production immediately after the earthquake, and currently each factory is verifying its safety. Bridgestone will study whether factories can restart their production, taking into consideration of the electricity restriction and other issues. There is no human suffering.
(2) Yokohama Factory
There is no critical damage. Bridgestone has stopped the production immediately after the earthquake, and the factory has restarted its production partially, after the verification of safety is completed. D. Site area : 234,540m²
E. Number of Employees : 847
F. Production capacity : 2,600 tons per month
(3) Kuroiso Factory
A. Location : Shimonakano 800, Nasushiobara City, Tochigi Prefecture

C. Production Item : Steel Cord for radial tires, beadwire for tires and others

F. Production capacity : 65,000 tons per year for steel cord, 28,500 tons per year for beadwire
