The Labor Department's Employment and Training Administration (ETA) has $40 million available in Green Jobs Innovation Fund grants intended to increase the number of people completing green jobs training programs, according to a notice in the February 24 Federal Register. ETA intends to fund five to eight grants ranging from $5 million to $8 million to national and statewide organizations that have local affiliates with existing career training programs. Each grant is intended to fund technical and basic skills training that leads to green jobs in at least six communities. The performance period for the grants will be up to 36 months.

The funds will enable training providers to develop programs that incorporate green career pathways by linking registered apprenticeship and pre-apprenticeship programs and including community-based partnerships in the delivery of training.
