SwampRentals.com Selects Six University of Florida Students for Their Spring 2011 Intern Class
SwampRentals.com selected six University of Florida students to fill their 2011 intern class. The internship will focus on digital communication strategy, search engine optimization and social media strategy.
Six University of Florida students were selected out of a competitive field to fill Swamp Rentals' spring 2011 intern class. The internship will cover digital communication strategy, search engine optimization and social media as they relate to marketing both conventional apartments and student housing. Interns will also be exposed to account management and some sales.
Swamp Rentals' spring 2011 intern class will consist of Thad Boucher, Georgia Fojo, Jessica Keys, Stephen Koepp, Tiffany Lasky-Tumarkin and Cynthia Plunkett with Jamie Daigle as Intern Coordinator. All are current students within the University of Florida's College of Journalism. Pete Zimek, Swamp Rentals' founder, will lead the program.
"I'm excited to learn ways to market websites and Gainesville apartments to area residents and to UF students. There are so many people coming here every year, and I want them to know that Swamp Rentals is the best way for them to find their apartment," said Keys.
The students' final project will be to plan, publicize, and host a one hour marketing symposium for Gainesville apartment managers and leasing professionals. The goal will be to provide those in attendance with tangible, innovative ideas that they can use to more effectively marketing their apartment communities.
"We have a great crop of interns this year. I can't wait to see what kind of innovative marketing ideas that they come up with for marketing Gainesville apartments," said Zimek.
