Jeppesen announced that the new Standard Horizon CPN Series navigation system — launched today at the 2011 Miami International Boat Show and available this spring — will be powered by C-MAP by Jeppesen cartography in a way that delivers unequalled convenience, flexibility and navigational performance. Both the 7-inch Standard Horizon CPN 700i and the 10.2-inch CP1010i come pre-loaded with worldwide C-MAP by Jeppesen base charts. Systems sold in the United States will also include C-MAP by Jeppesen coastal navigation charts making the CPN chartplotters “ready to sail” right out of the box. The built-in charts cover all of North America, including Alaska, Hawaii, the Great Lakes and Canada, along with popular cruising regions of the Bahamas, Caribbean, Cuba, Puerto Rico and Central America. The included charts provide boaters with bottom contours and spot soundings to 30-meter depths, NavAids with icons, tidal station data and port information.

Built-in cartography is only part of the picture with these advanced new chartplotters. The CPN Series is also compatible with C-MAP 4D, Jeppesen’s most sophisticated electronic charting solution. Customers who want to take their electronic charting experience to a new level can purchase a C-MAP 4D card with either Max or full 4D content. Boaters who begin with C-MAP 4D Max content can later purchase/unlock additional features to get the full 4D experience with the same cartridge. C-MAP 4D Max content includes popular features such as Guardian Alarm, detailed harbor charts, C-Marina port databases, high-definition aerial photos, Explorer charts and more. Opting for full 4D content provides all this, along with the latest navigation features, such as:

• 3D Chart Views: C-MAP 4D provides boaters with the most detailed 3D height and depth cartography database worldwide, for an electronic navigation experience that is as close as possible to the real world environment.

• Digital Raster Charts With 2D/3D Overlay:  Combining the traditional with the truly innovative, C-MAP 4D can overlay digital raster charts over 2D or 3D shaded relief. This feature delivers a new boating experience for navigators who prefer the traditional look of nautical paper charts.
• Easy Routing: Jeppesen’s Easy Routing Technology helps navigators plan an efficient and safe route.  This feature analyzes the high-quality C-MAP 4D chart data, works out the shortest route and checks and displays hazards for each leg of the journey.
