PotashCorp Lead Local Sponsor for 2012 RBC Cup

Saskatoon, Saskatchewan – Potash Corporation of Saskatchewan Inc. (PotashCorp) today announced a $75,000 title sponsorship of the 2012 RBC Cup – Canada’s national Junior “A” hockey championship that will be held in Humboldt next May. According to organizers, the tournament will profile the best in Canadian junior hockey and shine a spotlight on Humboldt as well.

“Our company’s goal is to support local events and projects that grow stronger communities and build community spirit,” explained Rob Bubnick, General Manager at PotashCorp Lanigan. “The 2012 RBC Cup will do that and more. And, it will showcase the City of Humboldt and our own Humboldt Broncos to a national audience.”

The tournament will feature the country’s top five Junior “A” hockey teams, including the Humboldt Broncos, who will compete along side four regional winners from across Canada. The final game will be televised on TSN for viewers from coast to coast.

The event will also celebrate 100 years of hockey in Saskatchewan – a milestone for the Saskatchewan Hockey Association.

“The heart of every Saskatchewan community is the local hockey rink or arena,” explained Bubnick. “In many communities, it’s hockey that brings people together. That’s why we’re so proud to be the lead local sponsor for this event. The impact of the 2012 RBC Cup on Humboldt and surrounding area is going to be tremendous.”
